Rome Wine Festival 2011

Posted in Fairs and festivals in Rome and province - September 13th, 2011

The wine festival in Rome has arrived at its 87° edition, in fact the first festival was organized in 1925 by roman poet Leone Ciprelli. The Rome wine festival, more precisely, the Marino wine festival is one of most important festival in Italy, certainly the most important of the Lazio region. (Marino is a small town very near Rome).

Halfway between sacred and profane, the wine festival in Rome is also one occasion to celebrate the Madonna’s Rosario who is the protectors of Sainte-Alliance (Spain, Vatican, Genoa Republic, Venice Republic, Dukedom Savoy, The knights of Malta) which defeated Ottoman Empire in the Lepanto battle in 7Th October 1571. But the principle reason of the festival is the celebration of the most important local product, the wine. So every year in Marino, the pro-loco organizes a three day festival with procession, parade, and obviously with a lot of wine.

Like every year the peak of the festival is the first Sunday of October, because there are the Historical Parade (representation of the Marcantonio II Colonna’triumphal entry when he returned after the Lepanto battle), the Carnival Parade, the Madonna’s Rosario procession but mostly “The fountains miracle” that is the water is replaced with the wine. The 87° Rome wine festival edition will occur since 1st until 3rd October, we suggest this Hotel in the center of Rome.

Rome, Poland and the Berlin Wall Fall: through theatre’s posters

Posted in Fairs and festivals in Rome and province - September 14th, 2010

The Polish theatre talk about itself at the Theatre House of Rome. The exhibition called “All about Theatre in a poster. Poland 1989-2009” seems to be unusual for a middle artistic sensibility. Nevertheless a date (1989) in the title has to call back immediately an event into your mind: the Berlin Wall Fall. This is what this exhibition, lasting till October 17th, wants to tell to his public: the historical changes made by the Great Wall Fall in the Polish nation through the artistic theatre poster.

This exhibition tells about the society transformation caused by the Wall Fall through an expressive medium. From the XIX century to the Wall Fall the theatre posters was where the most famous artist and the censors ones had been able to express themselves in the same way, far away from the censorship bar.

After the Danzig Facts and the Berlin Wall Fall the posters became the main way for the expression of new artistic energies and languages: some names like Wieslaw Walkuski, Rafal Olbinski, Stasys Eidrigevicius mark the distance between the after ’89 production and the before ’89 production symbolized by some artists like Henryk Tomaszewski and Jan Levica, the famous author of “Wozzeck”. De Chirico at Palazzo delle Esposizioni

Posted in Fairs and festivals in Rome and province - June 15th, 2010

Till July 11th 2010 De Chirico is the master of the house at Palazzo delle Esposizioni. This is the way to celebrates the 100 years from the birth of the metaphysical movement for Achille Bonito Oliva: he decided to celebrate his founder in a exhibition centered on Caos and Cosmos eternal fight.

From 1888 to 1978, from Symbolism through Metaphysic to new Metaphysic, nature theme is essential for De Chirico. Representing Nature as an emblem of the reality’s depth he conceives it as a duty, a objective and a challenge for the artist. Truth is an hermeneutics of this challenge.

The real meaning of nature’s idealization and glorification as it appears in “vite silenti”, the one of nature’s wild-eyed transfiguration as in “Piazze d’Italia” or the one of nature’s negation as it appears in Dummies geometries, is a unitary truth transmuted in a progress of hermeneutics ideas.
