3 dates of the Gianna Nannini Rome Concert

Will be three the dates of Gianna Nannini Rome concert. After the sold out of the first date the Rome concert the sienese singer has decided to add another date in the capitol at the other two just plan, so after the date of 3rd May and the 4th May, the fan will have the opportunity to see her also the 5th May.

The Gianna Nannini Rome Concerts has been organize by Live Nation and the tour will pass by the most important Italian city and will continue also in Europe in the summer, in all the tour dates will be 22. The dates of Rome concert take place occur at Sport Palace (Palalottomatica – Eur quarter) and here the singer will exhibit the successes contained in the last album “Me and You”, the album name gives also the name at European tour.

Besides the fans registered in the official community of the singer will have the opportunity to enter 30 minutes before the opening hours and can attend at sound check of the concert but this only for the date of the 4th may. Rome 1st May the day of Pope John Paul II’s beatification

Pope John Paul II’s beatification ceremony will take place in Rome. The city awaits over 300 thousand pilgrims and believers who, together, will remember the beloved Karol WoJtyla.

Celebrations will start since the evening of 30th April, with a wake rite that lasts until 10 am of the 1st May, hour in which starts the very beatification, officiated by Benedict XVI.
John Paul II’s coffin will be shown in the St. Peter’s Basilica, but the corpse won’t be exhumed.

Believers can attend the high celebration also from the maxi screens installed in many Rome city center churches that will stay open all night long between 30th April and 1st May and in many main city squares nearby San Pietro.
Thanks to the logistic cooperation between the Vicariate, Regione Lazio, Comune and Provincia di Roma, the area will be equipped with dining points and public toilettes. Visitors will be supported by over 2.500 volunteers.
Furthermore, a card “JP2-pass” will be available with which it’s possible to move freely by all the Rome city public transports for the three days of the celebrations (costs 18 Euros).

The beatification process ends the 2nd of May, with the ceremony officiated by Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican State minister.

Six year from his death, who loves this extraordinary figure will learn to address to him as Blessed John Paul II (Beatus Ioannes Paulus II).

Rome Marathon 2011, the whole city in a single breath

Forty-two kilometers and one hundred ninety five meters along the magic streets  of the eternal city. That’s the Rome Marathon: an event that is becoming one of the most awaited in the World and which even this year won’t disappoint the better expectations. The 20th March professional marathon runners are expected at the starting line to compete on a trail that touches some of the most suggestive Italian capital places.

But the day of March 20th won’t be dedicated just to professionals. In fact, while athletes will start their competition, Rome lovers and the ones who want to enjoy the sport event with less stress and with less competitive spirit, can keep part at the RomaFun – “La Stracittadina”: four kilometers of free, open competition run.

Gormley’s spaces at Macro in Rome

The first Gormley’s Italian graphic exhibition will be hosted till February 6th at Macro Roma Museum. Called Drawing Space, this exhibition is an unusual sculptor’s introduction to his visitors. The Museum director Barbero, who set up this exhibition, enjoyed himself interweaving a plot between Gormley’s sculptures and graphics as strictly dependent and absolute at the same time. The spontaneity of drawings contrast with the slow working of sculptures as Angel of the Nort, Habitat and Another Place.

The Gormley artworks can’t forget yet in its two-dimensional rendering his typical attention to the relationship between man and the space around him: internal space and external space, their dynamics and their mutual facing reaching proportion and its breaking point are the themes characterizing Gormley sculptures and the drawings hosted at the Macro Roma Museum. Invader: the Roman street art at he Wunderkammern exhibition centre

The Wunderkammern exhibition centre in Rome will host till Dicember 21th the Rome-dedicated artworks of the street artist Invader. After the invasion of a lot of international museums, galleries and cities, during this summer Invader got Rome with his street art, building an artistic tour inside the urban context: its map will be presented in the exhibition occasion at the Wunderkammern gallery.

The Art of Invaders is a sort of “interference” between a real world and a virtual one, between an everyday city area and the Arcade Game Space’s characters of the latest 70’s, called, as you know, invaders. Who can forget the long lasting battles against these aliens to save the space shuttle?

Invader will bring back to the today urban and life context the collective imaginary that marked a generation. Near this artworks the Wunderkammern gallery will present to the roman public the Invader’s RubikCubism works: Invader uses to revisit and expose some classical art masterpieces or some collective imaginary’s symbols built thanks to the connection of the Rubik Cube colored modules. Van Gogh returns in Rome

Vang Gogh is back in Rome. Yes, finally he comes back with his artworks to the Eternal City. The Exhibition will be hosted at the Vittoriano Museum Complex and will be called “Vincent Van Gogh: timeless countryside and modern city”.

Cornelia Homburg, the exhibition curator, one of the most important specialist in the Duch painter artworks studies, choose to present to her visitors the dichotomous face of Van Gogh: from one side she wants to present his love for the eternal and unchangeable character of the countryside; on the other side she wants to show the influence of the urban life with its rapid traffic on the artist experience. This is the Homburg way of presenting to the visitor a all-accomplished view of Van Gogh’s artworks avoiding pedantry. (more…)

Romaeuropa Festival: the performing arts festival of Rome

Till December 2nd 38 performances will enliven the Roman stages for the 25th edition of Romaeuropa Festival.

The performing arts festival has been the showcase of the European performance avant-garde for 24 years and for his 25th edition it won’t lack in his astonishment effect: 20 national first nights and 3 international first nights will take place during the festival and, at the same time, a lot of stars as Guy Cassiers, Wajdi Mouawad, Laurie Anderson and Massimiliano Civica will make their first appearance here.

This is not enough: the Romaeuropa Festival, the performing arts festival, will host also companies which wrote the festival history as Santasangre and MutaImago and international stars as Remo Castellucci, Josè Montalvo and Dominique Hevieu. The Roman International Dance EXPO

A spring breath in the heart of the Roman winter. This is what the Dance International EXPO will bring in Rome between Jenuary 14th and 16th. “Romeindance 2011”, an unforgettable event for the dance fans, will take place at Auditorium del Massimo, taking up about 50.000 square meters.

A three days event full of shows, conferences, lessons, stages, seminars, updates, special guests, competitions, auditions, debates, entertainments, performances and evening galas.

The Shows, acted by international ballet’s companies, will keep all the Dance International EXPO evenings busy. A part of the playbill has been declared: on Friday the Milan Ballet will act the exciting “Romeo and Juliet” and on Sunday 16th the Turin Theatre Ballet will dance the “Trilogy”. (more…)

Teotihuacan in Rome. The pre-Columbian Exhibition Palace

From November 9th 2010 to February 27th 2011 Central American’s pre-Columbian population will invade Rome. For the first time at Palazzo delle Esposizioni will be exposed the finds of the pre-Columbian population of Teotihuacan. The exhibition is called “Teotihuacan. The city of gods”.

Maybe you’re wondering: what’s Teotihuacan? We are talking about the Middle America’s capital city of pre-atzechian populations. The city, founded in the II century, and his culture acquired a great in all the today Mexico area. Some attestation reveal that the city population grew up in a few decade to 200.000, reaching his strength peak between 150 and 450 a.d., when the Teotihuacan dominance outreached the today’s Mexico confines.

The Teotihuacan culture shined artistically. This population created his original styles but integrated with imported materials and techniques. The cultural influence of the Teotihuacan culture got to the Great Nord: this attestation comes from some lithics material found in the Teotihuacan city: they will be exposed at Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
