Exhibitions in Rome: The Age of Conquest

Last month it has been inaugurated the exhibition The Age of Conquest, the first of the five-year project Days of Rome in the Capitoline Museums.

The event offers the chance to admire masterpieces of ancient art, dating from the period following the campaigns of conquest in Greece, namely the end of the third century BC until the second half of the first century BC. This period was crucial for the Roman art, as it gets significantly influenced by the Greek style and aesthetic taste.

In the exhibition’s The Age of Conquest will therefore exposed some of the masterpieces that best represent this stylistic change, majestic marble statues, ornaments and home decor items made of bronze and silver, works in bronze and terracotta, and much more.

The Age of the Conquest is only the first appointment of the cycle, Days of Rome and will be open to the public until the 5th September 2010.
