New York Shots exposition by Howard Schatz in Rome

The New York Shots exposition, photographic project by Howard Schatz, will take place in Rome until the first of May at the Macro, Museo d’Arte contemporanea.
The vivid shots chosen by the photographer dip us into a New York underground shown by the seamed body of boxe athletes , in the chiaroscuro market by the ring lights and the lamps of the outskirts gyms. Boxeurs drawn in more or less natural poses between the simulation and the reality of a physical extreme effort.
By the pictures gathered in the New York Shots exposition, Schatz face again the expressivity of the human body which, through the training, reach the shapes harmony without, nonetheless, hiding the deformities calling back to the rough reality.
The exposition inauguration will see the presence of some of the gratest boxe world champions: Vinny Maddalone, Domenico Spada, Daniele Petrucci, Andrea di Luisa, Manuel Ernesti, and many others athletes such as: Nino Benvenuti, Francesco Damiani, Gianfranco Rosi, Maurizio Stecca, Sumbu Kalambay, Gianluca e Silvio Branco.
A taste of New York in Rome, with this exposition that all the photography passionate don’t have to miss to spot the Howard Schatz’ shots, in the Hall of Macro until the first of May. A photographer that made out of the human body a religion and out of the picture a poetry.

Till February 6th 2011 an exhibition dedicated to Mario Schifano, one of the most important painters of the Italian XX century, will take place in Rome at MACRO museum. The exhibition collects a big part of the artist materials coming from the Mario Schifano Foundation born in 2003.

The same materials are propose to the visitors as a labyrinthine route created by their hanging up fittings: as a matter of fact the curators purpose is to put the visitors into a thick and constant expressive flow made by images, alterations, reviews, resumption and returns. Then exhibitions wants to arise again the expressive strength that characterized all the Mario Schifano’s way of work thanks to the recreation of genetic universe starting from the artist essential materials. The genesis: photos and Polaroids. The media transformation of the medias in a inexorable expressive flow, the birth of the trans-media artist Schifano: images manipulations, illustration, lines and colors.
